Update from April

Spent a quiet weekend with the family at Glanmire, walking, playing card games and Jenga, making cheese muffins and reading - very relaxing and the property looks so very green and lovely at the moment. Kids are growing fast - great to have this opportunity to spend time with them. Nana Liz is the slave to be at their beck and call when i am there! I will really miss them when I go back to NZ.

Back to work and the project is starting to come together - so working hard on that. Today is Anzac day and the parades and events in Sydney are many in number and growing in popularity rather than diminishing. Lots of current service men and women marching and love the bands especially the bagpipes! Wee bit cooler today and a touchof rain - maybe autumn will come now - been a wonderful run of lovely weather.

Have booked to fly home and see the new grandson, and Jonathan is doing well putting photos of Callum up on his own FAcebook page - love the ones of Jonathan changing nappies - lon gmay it continue! - it seems such a natural role for him and Olivia is a really happy mum - she bubbles over when you talk to her. Wee Callum is gradually settling in to some routines, feeding and growing well.

Caught up with family and friends in sydney yesterday which was great and off to spend the afternoon doing patchwork with a friend who is somewhat of an expert.
Public holiday tomorrow here, going to do some work but also get in a walk or two.

Photos of Callum

At last the long awaited photos - I guessed he wasnt too wrinkly as he was a healthy 8lb9oz, and yes, hehas dark hair, and yes he was 52cm long and yes daddy has been staying overnight at the hospital with Olivia but I was aching for news. Now have some photos off his Facebook page ( yes, Callum has his own Facebook page!) So here are some lovely photos
- note the big feet ( 8cm apparently?) Going to be a month before I can come home, but looking forward to a cuddle.

callum Joseph godfrey has arrived

Wonderful news.

I am back in Sydney for less than 24 hours and Callum Joseph Godfrey has arrived - he was a bonny 8lb 9oz, delivered by C section ( hope that didn't mean that O. had too rough a time of it) and was apparently already feeding by 2 hours old.

Sounds like all is well - will be proudly displaying pictures when they arrive! In the meantime, we are so pleased for J. and O. -what an adventure as new parents they are in for.

Easter and home to NZ

Well, I have just returned to Sydney after two weeks at home in Auckland with Peter. No new grndchild yet but next week! All well at home, although NZ looking much browner than I remember. Apparently they have had a drought, a whole two months in some areas without rain.

Lovely to catch up with quite a few friends and spend some time with Peter in our bus - with new "go faster' stripes on. Weather was glorious - great forthose who had gone away for Easter

We went down the Firth of Thames, stopping at oneof our favourite spots on the Seabird coast with 40 other motorhomes ( and a beautiful full moon shining in our back window), then down through Opoutere, to Waihi, and then on down the Bayof Plenty where we found ourselves camped in themiddle of a fishing cmopetition at Pickowai, then a visti to one of my favourite places - the Tarawera River, lake and falls and a visit to friend in Kawerau. Caught up with another frind as we rendezvoused beside Lake rotorua and stopped the last night beside lake karapiro and saw our NZ rowing squad out training in the early morning.

Home to await news of baby, but when no news so did lots of little odd jobs and caught up with a few more friends.

All in all, as I hope the photos show, a very pleasant time to spend with Peter who is looking really well.

More later when news of baby!
